ALL is set for the staging of the first annual International Reggae Wine Festival on Saturday, August 13, at Cinnamon Hill, Rose Hall in Montego Bay.
The event, dubbed 'the ultimate wine experience' which gets underway at 12 noon, will serve up some of the world's best wines and spirits from Jamaican and international wine purveyors, including J Wray and Nephew, Lascelles Wines and Spirits, Betco Premier Limited and 1876 Wines.
The International Reggae Wine Festival will also showcase "the complete lifestyle", inclusive of the food, the fashion and the arts, and will see Jamaicans and visitors from New York, Washington, Canada and elsewhere coming together for the experience.
A stellar entertainment package will also be a highlight of the one-day festival featuring world-renowned vintage reggae crooner John Holt and young stars Tessanne Chin, Romain Virgo and Alaine.
International Reggae Wine Festival is a new addition to Jamaica's lively events calendar, and Carlos Daley of CSR Promotions — the festival's organiser — says from all indications, it promises to be a stellar event with a very long shelf life.
Daley said he is encouraged by the response to the festival from Jamaicans here and abroad, as well as all the entities offering support, including the various hotels who are on board and offer great package deals to our visitors. Additionally the sponsors, Irie FM, Zip FM, the Jamaica Observer, Mello FM, CVM TV, Kool FM, and Whitter Village.
The festival's technical director, John Swaby promises a unique and comfortable ambiance for patrons, as he devises a world-class setting for the festival, which pairs Jamaicans' growing love of fine wines with their passion for reggae music.
The classy combination will also feature a fashion show, as well as music by Bare Essentials and Merritone with Senor Daley from Rae Town at the controls.
