Telecommunication providers Digicel rocked Portmore with a 'loaded' Christmas Concert at the Portsmouth community Centre on Saturday night.
Digicel Rising Stars second runner-up, Jermaine Michael, had the females clamouring for more with his rendition of Usher's You Got It Bad. He opened with Glacia Robinson's Hold My Hands and closed with Khago's Nah Sell Out. He also sang an original tune, Life Is So Real.
Portmore Empire deejay Popcaan was also on the set and he was an instant hit with the fans, stringing a few of his hits, including Clarks, a combination with his musical father, Vybz Kartel, who was not on the show; Dem Sell We Out and Dream, among others.
Terror Fabulous was a surprise act on the show and got good responses from the crowd, drawing lyrics from his 1990s hits such as Yuh Nuh Kotch and Number 2.
The show, hosted by Lady Renae, saw Rastafarian Diego Blood with a telling set, pouring out witty lyrics such as Bad Mind and Tek Long Fe Bus. Chullu Blaxx gave a decent performance, giving the patrons food for thought with Nuh Live For The Moment. He also did Cah Stop My Flow and Better Days.
Keeping with the cheerful atmosphere of the show, a comical clash unfolded with Blue Steel and Getthoe Barney, which had the audience in stitches.
Meanwhile, Donovan White, head of marketing at Digicel, and Alrick Campbell, councillor for the Edgewater Division, switched on the lights for the Christmas tree.
Earlier, the children were given a treat with a mechanical bull, bounce-a-bout and took pictures with Santa Clause and his elves. Tomorrow, a big tree-lighting ceremony will be at the Edgewater round-a-bout, a partnership between Digicel and the Portmore Municipal Council.
