Gospel artiste Dwayne Jackson has penned a song challenging dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel to change his lifestyle, consider the repercussions of what he is doing and to seek Christ.
Jackson told the media that he wanted to make a serious statement, because Kartel needs to realise he is not a god.
He holds no bars in criticizing Kartel, addressing various issues from ‘bleaching’ through to his influence on young men, the explicit photographs, and his alleged freemason membership.
Kartel, has definitely hit a few bad chords with persons in the music fraternity with regards to comments he made defending the bleaching of his skin.
Several dancehall artistes have hit out both directly and indirectly at Kartels dramatic transformation as well as comments he made in the latest issue of Vibe magazine where he said, “I’m my own man, and as such I do my own thing. When black woman stop straightening their hair and wearing wigs and weaves… when people stop getting nose jobs and cosmetic surgery then I’ll stop using the ‘cakesoap’ and we’ll all live naturally ever after.”
