The local dancehall community was jolted, if only for a few minutes, by news that popular selector turned recording artiste Tony Matterhorn had been shot and killed.

The news spread like wildfire in the late afternoon via Blackberry Messenger and social networking sites that Matterhorn had been shot and killed along Barbican Road in St Andrew.

 The Observer's entertainment desk received a number of calls from fans of the personality, trying to ascertain whether or not the rumours were true.

However, withn an hour it was all put to rest at Matterhorn, who is currently on tour in Europe responded. The selector known for his popular track Dutty Wine, responded in his own inimitable way asking, why unoo a spread rumours seh mi get shot? I'm Ok."

In 2006, Matterhorn, whose real name is Dufton Taylor, hit local and international charts with his bereak out ttune Dutty Wine, since then he has rreleased a number of tracks, including an end of summer favourite taking aimed at fellow artistes Twin of Twins.
