Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel says he will be releasing a book, titled Voice of the Ghetto, this summer.
According to a news release from the artiste, the book is an in-depth look at ghetto life in Jamaica through his eyes, and will give the historical causes for how Jamaica got into the problems it now has and some suggestions from Kartel on how to improve the plight of people living the ghettos.
The book, he said, has been in the making for over two years.
ZJ Wah Wa releases Hammageddon
Selector and radio jock ZJ Wah Wa has released his summer mix CD titled Hammageddon.
The 88-track dancehall compilation adopts the Thor theme and features some of Jamaica's biggest and upcoming acts, among them Aidonia, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Chedda, I-Octane, Vybz Kartel, Ryno, Iyara, Elephant Man, Navino, Unga, and Chino.
"I try to incorporate my personality into the project, so I really hope the fans will appreciate the work I put into it," said Wah Wa, who is also known as the 'Hamma General' of Darkcide International and Zip 103FM. "This is just the beginning of better things to come from the Hamma General and the Darkcide team. Look out for some mad things summer and don't forget to check me out zipping the airwaves."
DAGCK Promotions releases Start Mih Up rhythm
DAGCK Promotions has officially released the Start Mih Up rhythm featuring a number of dancehall artistes, among them Perfect, performing Nah Bleach, Prodiji on All Night, Aksess delivering MONEY, and Supamodel Joelee on Weh Yuh A Go Do.
According to a news release from the group, the selections have been getting rotation on radio and in clubs in Jamaica, Belize, Costa Rica, Guyana, Trinidad, USA, Canada, Europe, and Japan.
"As the name suggests, this is the 'Start Up' of promising musical careers for all the new artistes featured on the Start Mih Up rhythm," the news release said.
