After closing its doors a few weeks ago, The Building nightclub will be officially reopening as Club Riddim on July 1st with performances from the King of Dancehall Beenie Man, Jahvinci and other artistes.
However, in a unique twist, The Building will be reopening one last time under its old nom de guerre as The Building for this Saturday’s staging of Inclusive Saturdays.

Club Riddim, the Official Club of Dancehall, is now under new management and ownership, however, American businessman Corey Todd will remain as the spokesperson for the new club.

“Business is business, I am still a part of the team and I will ensure that Club Riddim will do what I set out to do in the beginning and that’s represent dancehall fully. I look forward to get all selectors including ones I haven’t been able to work with in the past such as Stone Love, Foota Hype, Boom Boom, Raz N Biggy, Jigsy, Mario C, the Fresh Team and even Tony Matterhorn,” Todd said in a release.

The nights will consist of Magnum Ladies Night Out hosted by Boasy Boy Floyd every Tuesday where new music from all dancehall artistes will be featured and there will be a segment for new artistes to perform and show off their talents. Ladies will be free all night.

One noteable change will be the introduction of Yaad Swag Thursdays which will be hosted by Beenie Man.

“There will be more details about this night but it will be a real exciting night with crazy specials on rum,” Todd said.

In order to amp up its rebranding exercise, Club Riddim will host a Summer Live Concert series for the next couple of weeks where there will be live performances from dancehall and reggae artistes.

“Every week, there will be a different artistes with the likes of Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Assassin, Aidonia, Busy Signal, Jahvinci, Blak Ryno, Sizzla, Lady Saw, Spice, Konshens and I Octane,” Todd said.

On Saturdays, Inclusive Saturdays will return to Club Riddim but with a twist.

“Inclusive Saturdays will take over New Kingston which means the same band whether purchased from Riddim or Quad can get you into both clubs so if you want to change the vibes from hardcore dancehall to reggae to house or hip hop can just walk over to Quad or vice versa. Rum mixes are still free all night for just $1,000 dollars and women $500 before 1 a.m.,” Todd said.

According to the release, Club Riddim, under its new management team, will become the leading force to break new dancehall records and acts while maintaining a safe and fun-filled environment.

” Club Riddim will be 100 percent unbiased and not run like a patty shop. All artiste songs will play and the club will represent the authethic dancehall that is why the club can finally be deemed the official club of dancehall, this is what it should have been in the first place,” Todd said in the release.
