Fuller is expected to arrive in the island at 4:25 p.m. today and begin
training tomorrow with the team, which begun training at the National
Stadium yesterday. A few members of the squad are yet to fly in for the
encounter.Fuller suffered a similar injury in 2007, but on that occasion
was also lucky to have a short spell on the sideline as the socket was
rolled back into the joint.
Initially, it had been thought that Fuller, who suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder and was forced to leave the field on a stretcher
while playing for English Premier League club Stoke City against
Newcastle last weekend, would not be fit in time to face the Soca
Warriors.
However, further checks revealed that there had been no major damage suffered and the 30-year-old forward, who was passed fit after
undergoing a medical, was able to play the last 12 minutes of Stoke’s
weekend encounter against Blackburn.Fuller has been involved in
Jamaica’s 2002, 2006 and 2010 World Cup
campaigns. The player last featured for Jamaica at the 2009 CONCACAF
Gold Cup, which saw the team eliminated in the first round.
