Soul Train Nomination Generates Internet Buzz For Gramps Morgan

Atlanta: International reggae singer Gramps Morgan could not contain his excitement when he broke the news that his
facebook and website grampsmorgan.com have both enjoyed a 100 per cent
increase in visitors compared to earlier weeks. The increased traffic he
credits to the international expose garnered from snagging the "Best Reggae Artist" nomination at the Soul Train Awards.

“Our numbers have gone up dramatically since the nominations were announced on Monday, October 18. There is real enthusiasm in the market for reggae right now and I am grateful for the nomination and looking
to benefit from exposure opportunities like these"
he said.

Gramps has been having a world wind year since launching his solo career in 2009. Aside for the Soul Train nomination, he has won numerous awards including "Album of the Year" at the Reggae Music Appreciation Awards in Toronto; Album of the year (EME), Best New Entertainer, Best Song (Wash The Tears) and Best Cross Over (Therapy) at the IRAWMA in New York.

"I'm so excited and overwhelmed by the success that I have enjoyed since launching my solo career. The Soul Train nomination is is my first mainstream nomination which makes it all the better" he said.

Last year, Sean Paul walked away with the Soul Train Award, the very first time the category was introduced at the ceremony. This year's event, which again take place in Atlanta, will be hosted by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson and will air on Centric and BET TV Sunday, November 28, 2010. This year's celebration will honor not only current movers and shakers but veterans Anita Baker and Ronald Isley.

His achievements this year has no doubt brought enormous pride to Jamaicans at home and in the Diaspora. Aside from winning awards, he toured with Grammy winners India Arie and John Legend and performed at
back to back, sold out events at the World famous Madison Square Gardens
in New York. He then electrified over 15,000 reggae fans at the Queen's
Park Savannah in Soca country Trinidad and roused thousands more with
astonishing performances on his European summer tour with brother Peetah
Morgan. Earlier this year, he and his management company Dada Son
Entertainment formed a charity organization called Music Orchestrating
Miracles (MOM).

"Music has the power to move, inspire, heal, and to bring people together like no other art form. It makes miracles happen every day and has the power to change lives. Through the power of music, MOM seeks to
bring people together to impact those in need, creating miracles both
big and small" he said.

Gramps will continue to work on his soon to be released RnB & County album titled "2 Sides Of My Heart Vol. 2" that will feature an all-star cast including collaborations with R&B singer Musiq
Soulchild and reggae superstar Ziggy Marley. He is also producing songs
for other young reggae acts all over the world.
