Veteran singer Eric Donaldson is battling the courts over ganja possession.
The Multiple winner of the JCDC festival song competition was arrested and charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act on Wednesday, June 15.
Eric Donaldson, who is most popular for the single “Mr. Cherry O Baby” remembers the incident that occurred in an open lot near the Spanish Town Courthouse, shortly before midday.
According to reports, members of the St. Catherine North Police Crime Unit were on patrol, when they observed the singer allegedly smoking what turned out to be a ganja spliff. A search was conducted and a small parcel of ganja was reportedly found.
Eric Donaldson has since been granted a $30,000 station bail. He is expected to appear in court on June 28.
