BARRINGTON Levy has some big-name guests for It's About Time, his new album which will be released this week by the singer's Black Roses Entertainment.

Rappers Snoop Dogg, Jada Kiss, Busta Rhymes and the late Heavy D make appearances on the set, as well as Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley. It is Levy's most anticipated album since 1998's Living Dangerously which also featured a number of collaborations with high-profile acts.

 Love Me Like This is the title of the song with Heavy D. The PRWEB website reported last week that the song was recorded in California in 2010.

Heavy D, who was born in Mandeville, died two weeks ago at age 43 in Los Angeles from complications of pneumonia.

Healthy, done with Marley, is expected to be It's About Time's lead single. A music video is already in the works and promotion for the song is expected to pick up significantly in early 2012.

The title track from Living Dangerously was Levy's last big hit. Done with Bounty Killer, it was massively popular on radio and in the dancehalls.

The album also has Levy working with Snoop, soul singer Betty Wright and the Long Beach Dub All Stars.

Born in Clarendon, Levy broke through as a teenager in the late 1970s with a series of hit songs with producer Hyman 'Jah Life' Wright and the Roots Radics Band, including Looking My Love and Collie Weed.

For some time, he and Yellowman were the star acts in the Volcano camp of Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, the flamboyant producer behind songs like Prison Oval Rock and 21 Girl Salute.

Levy's songs for Volcano were very popular among reggae fans in Britain where several of his albums were released by the independent Greensleeves Records.

Levy has released some strong albums like Love The Life You Live in 1988; Barrington (1992) and Living Dangerously. Barrington was released by the major label MCA Records and contained remixed versions of the dancehall classics Under Mi Sensi and Murderer.
