The prosecutors in Buju Banton’s ongoing high profile drug trial have declined to prosecute juror Terri Wright for criminal contempt.
According to a document filed, the United States government has also opposed Buju’s appeal for a new trial.
Buju Banton’s attorney Chokwe Lumumba who was recently appointed Mayor in Mississippi has since advised the reggae entertainer to seek other legal counsel.
Terri Wright told a reporter for a South Florida newspaper that she researched the case, apparently during the trial.
Buju Banton is serving a 10-year prison sentence on two drug charges.
