Cedella Marley pens another children's book

SINCE its original release more than 30 years ago, Bob Marley's song One Love has been a source of joy, pride, and inspiration for millions people worldwide. Now, Marley's daughter Cedella brings One Love to a new generation in the form of a children's book.

Adapted by Cedella and illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton, One Love depicts one girl's journey as she enlists her friends, family, and community to help transform their neighbourhood for the better.

Cedella says, "When my father sang One Love, he felt it all the way — heart and soul, mind and body. He thought a world united by love was possible, and it is. All we've got to do, he said, is 'give a little, take a little.' "

She adds that One Love animates this sentiment and passes on an important message about the strength of love and community. Cedella Marley notes that the book is perfect for families everywhere. "This story is a colourful and upbeat testament to the amazing things that can happen when we all get together with one love in our hearts."

Cedella recently shared her thoughts about the book in an interview with The Children's Book Review, "I'm so happy to have this opportunity to share the message of One Love. I hope it inspires you to live the message of one love and do what you can as a family to create a better world."

One Love has been published as both a hardcover and e-book.

Over time Cedella and her siblings have expanded her father's legacy through both artistic and philanthropic projects including Africa Unite, The Bob Marley Foundation, and Save the Children. Also a designer, Marley is currently working with Puma on the designs for the official uniform of Jamaica's Olympic Team. One Love is her fifth book overall and the third one specifically for children.
