CEO of Music Industry Achievers (M.I.A.) Production, Nackesha Doyley, wants the public to be aware of an individual she describes as malicious and dishonest. The individual, she claims, has been pretending to be recording artiste Gyptian and has been contacting her to do bookings and to set up interviews for him.

Doyley told THE STAR that the calls started approximately two weeks ago, and have been coming in constantly since then. Admitting that she has never worked with Gyptian before, Doyley said she was shocked but didn't think anything of it initially.

However, it didn't take her long to become suspicious of the individual because of his persistent nature. "The person kept calling everyday, sometimes more than five or six times, and I began to feel like something was wrong," she said.

Despite early suspicions, Doyley told THE STAR that she had already begun the process of booking shows and interviews for the artiste. "I had thought that it was indeed Gyptian, so I had gone ahead and made a few calls to some promoters overseas who were already making preparations to accommodate him for shows. I can only imagine if everything had gone through, what a heap of problems I would be in today," she expressed.

She then revealed that it was not until she followed the artiste on Instagram and saw him posting photos of himself overseas that her initial suspicions were confirmed. She then said that a call to the pretentious individual confirming his location led her to make contact with some of the artiste's closest friends.

"When I called, 'Gyptian' told me he was in Jamaica and that the picture that he posted was an old picture, and I thought to myself something does not add up," she said. "I had to call up a few people I knew were close to him, and they confirmed that the real Gyptian was indeed overseas, and I was communicating with an imposter all this time," she said.

Checks conducted byTHE STAR to the real artiste's social network platforms, as well as calls to some of his associates, confirmed that Gyptian is overseas on tour.

Having avoided what could have been a catastrophic situation, Doyley now wants the public to be aware of individuals who are pretending to be entertainers.
