Dancehall Mourns Death Of Captain Barkey

The music fraternity, family, friends and music lovers are mourning following the death of dancehall deejay Captain Barkey. The entertainer along with his female companion was gunned down on Saturday outside a motel in New York.
 
Captain Barkey’s mother Irene Clarke tells Music News Barkey was a blessed son.
 
 
Meanwhile Captain Barkey’s brother, Beego Blood who is also an entertainer says the incident has left him terrified.
 
 
Captain Barkey was also known for his work as part of the dynamic duo, Captain Barkey and Wickerman. Wickerman remembers Captain Barkey as jovial.
 
 
Macka Diamond who was friends with both Captain Barkey and the woman says she’s still in shock and can’t believe that they’re gone.
 
 
Music News interviewed Captain Barkey last Tuesday for the feature WHERE ARE THEY NOW. The deejay was planning to return to Jamaica in December for a string of events with Wickerman.
 
 
“Bun Fi Bun”, "Go Go Wine" and “Antichrist" are just a few of the hits that Captain Barkey recorded. He was 49.
