A popular dancehall music producer accused of assault appeared before the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s court yesterday to answer to the charges
harged with assault is Patrick ‘Roach’ Samuels.
The accused entered a not guilty plea.
The court was told that on the day in question, Samuels allegedly attacked the female complainant and slapped her repeatedly in her chest.
Allegations are that his aggression did not stop there as drinks were also thrown on the complainant.
In his defence, Samuels told the court that he was pepper sprayed by the complainant and that was what caused the altercation.
Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis told Samuels that his explanation was not the matter before her and that he should follow up with his report on the complainant with the police.
A fingerprint order was made against Samuels and he was given a bail extension.
Samuels is schedule to stand trial in the Night Court on September 12.
