The driver of a Toyota Coaster bus that overturned with Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters who were coming from the party's annual conference yesterday, has been warned for prosecution by the Ferry police.

The incident occurred along Highway 2000.

"Yes, we have conducted a breathalyser test on the driver and he came up clean," a policeman told The Star. The police revealed, however, that the bus driver is likely to be charged with dangerous driving arising from the injury of 15 persons.

Police said about 5 p.m., the Toyota Coaster bus, filled with persons coming from the JLP's conference held at the National Arena, collided in the back of a wrecker travelling in the same direction.

This resulted in the bus hitting a median and overturning, injuring the passengers, the police said.

The injured were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where they were treated for varying injuries.

Investigating officer Corporal Lloyd Wellington said speeding was the contributing factor to the crash.
