Dutty Rock birthday celebration for Aidonia

Internationally acclaimed dancehall superstar Sean Paul, along with Leftside, will be pulling out all the stops tomorrow (Friday, April 6) as their club series Dutty Rock will be celebrating the dancehall maestro Aidonia's birthday at Club Riddim.

Throngs of fellow artistes namely, Beenie Man, Konshens, Tifa and Bling Dog are expected to participate in the holiday weekend special one-night-only celebration.

According to Leftside, the night's proceedings will feature a party-vibe atmosphere with musical selections from one of Jamaica's hottest sound systems, Coppershot, with Cutty and Mark Chin.

Special guest selector Fire Links will no doubt bring the raw and unadulterated dancehall mood to the party.

"We will be celebrating with Aidonia come Friday, patrons can expect to just come out and party the night away as we will be having $200 mixed-drink specials all night, so you can expect a crazy night of intense partying with the celebs," said Leftside.

Sean Paul and Leftside recently started the Dutty Rock series with their regular Friday-night offering whereby patrons come out and enjoy a night of pure music by one of Kingston's hottest sound systems and DJs. The series has been ongoing for some seven weeks.

Admission to the April 6 event is $500. Ladies enter free before 1 a.m., and females with college IDs can enter free all night.

The party vibe gets into high gear from 10 p.m., and the promoters are promising special prizes, giveaways including ticket giveaways.

In the meantime, Dutty Rock promoter Sean Paul has continued to create a stir on the local and international scene.

Just recently, the versatile dancehall master brought the house down with an exceptional performance at the Rémy Martin Fly Away Concert at the Sandals Grande Riviera Beach and Golf Resort.

Twenty-two VIP guests from the United States were flown to Jamaica to witness Sean's dynamic performance which saw him bellowing out hit after hit in his 40-minute set.

The 2004 Grammy Award-winning artiste first teased the crowd with hits such as Get Busy, before easing into the hip-hop vibe with Give it Up To Me.

Sean Paul demonstrated his musical prowess as he had the audience swooning for more when he touched one of his newest hit singles on his Tomahawk Technique album Got to Luv U.

The versatile performer continued to tease and please his audience when he got into another hit single from the Tomahawk Technique album, Body, which he says he wrote as part of Jamaica's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Sean Paul's fifth studio album, Tomahawk Technique, released through Atlantic Records, has been creating waves on the Dutch, Austrian, French and Swiss music charts.

The album which features collaborations with international recording artiste Kelly Rowland, Alexis Jordan and DJ Ammo debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart.
