Ele takes BET appearance to the world

So proud is he of his recent achievement of appearing on the recent BET Awards in Los Angeles that Elephant Man has put pen to paper about the experience in a song called Tek It To The World.

The song was produced by Cordel 'Skatta' Burrell and released late last week.

According to Elephant Man, he was encouraged to do a song about the BET Awards appearance alongside Dawn Penn, Chaka Demus & Pliers and Beenie Man on June 30, based on the response from the public.

"Everybody been saying Elephant Man, you need to do a song like that. If sup'm bad happen in dancehall wi run go write song, so if sup'm good happen, why not write a song," he said.

But when he did the song, Elephant Man said he did not expect it to do so well. Shortly after being released, he said it was played on the popular New York-based Hot 97 FM, as well as Miami-based 99 Jamz.

"Everybody a play it. The people dem just glad fi the song," he told THE STAR.

Since creating waves on the awards show, Elephant Man said he has been getting "a lot of offers, everybody want wi fi go pon song wid dem." He added that he has been in talks with the likes of 2 Chains, Nicki Minaj, Lil Jon and Mariah Carey, who is one of the first persons that Elephant Man did a collaboration with. They collaborated on Got A Thing 4 You that also featured Da Brat.

Although he is yet to come up with a name for his upcoming album, Elephant Man said Tek It To The World will be the first single from the album. With the album due for release in October, he said he will shoot the music video for the new song in both Miami and Jamaica.

In a previous interview with THE STAR shortly after appearing on BET Awards, Elephant Man said his old and new songs have been getting increased downloads.
