The “energy god” Elephant Man, who is accused of stealing electricity, is to face trial in the New Year.

The dancehall deejay is to return to court on February 7, 2012. In early June this year, Ele was arrested at his home on Hillcrest Avenue in St Andrew during an operation that was carried out by members of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) and the police. 

Reports are that on closer inspection, the team allegedly observed that the meter contained an illegal connection that went directly to an apartment the entertainer occupied. Police said several appliances were connected to the illegal connection found in the apartment.

Elephant Man had his bail extended when he appeared in the Corporate Area RM court
