Dancehall Deejay Elephant Man was granted bail in the sum of $400,000 when he appeared in the Corporate Area R-M Court this afternoon.

Ele is charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 31-year-old woman. Police say the incident happened at his St Andrew home.

Elephant Man is expected to return to court for a preliminary hearing on May 21. The deejay was arrested on Monday.

Last June the dancehall deejay was dragged in the courts after being accused of stealing electricity from JPS.
