FOLLOWING KARTEL'S GUILTY VERDICT ... Vanessa Bling says life goes on

Saddened by Vybz Kartel's guilty verdict, dancehall artiste Vanessa Bling says she is picking up the pieces while keeping her career afloat.

Upon hearing that her mentor had been convicted of murder over a week ago, Vanessa Bling (also called Gaza Slim) said she was in complete shock.

"I was at court. When mi hear, mi couldn't move, mi couldn't cry. When mi hear it on the radio (later), mi still a wonder if it real. Mi cry, mi drop... but at the end of it mi haffi keep strong. Mi miss him still," Vanessa Bling told THE STAR.

"It's very sad, but at the end of the day life goes on and I will always be here for him. It is not what man says but what God says. Mi did want him free completely, but God knows best," she said.

Still being managed by So Unique Records, she explained that things are not much different because it is the "same management team, same label, so nutten nuh really change".

She continued, "Mi just haffi do weh mi haffi do and keep it going 'cause mi haffi represent. Big up him (Vybz Kartel) madda, fadda and him seven kids and I hope dem just gwaan hold the faith. And big up Shawn Storm family and Kahira, Mad Suss and Tusain."

Meanwhile, Vanessa Bling, who says she is the new model for Sophia's Subscription of Style, says she is currently promoting her new song, Touch Mi Right.

"It's doing great enuh. I'm getting a lot of feedback. So mi haffi do weh mi haffi do and turn up di ting," she said.

And although she is busy promoting her song and preparing to shoot the music video, Vanessa Bling also has some legal issues of her own.

In 2011, she was charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. It is said that Vanessa Bling had reported to the police that Clive 'Lizard' Williams, the man deejay Vybz Kartel was accused of killing on August 16, assaulted her during a robbery in Havendale, St Andrew. She claimed that the incident occurred on October 29, five days after Kartel was charged with Williams' murder.

"Mi leave everything to God and mek him take control of everything. Mi nuh mek anything too badda mi 'cause mi know God ago work out everything for me," Vanessa Bling told THE STAR.
