Haitian artiste to file civil suit against Ele

Haitian hip-hop reggae artiste Gaston 'Fresh Tea' Bernard says he is planning to file a civil suit against dancehall artiste Elephant Man following a collaboration agreement gone wrong.

According to the artiste, he paid Elephant Man to record a collaborative single with him (since September of last year). however, after paying Elephant Man the fee he charged, the Twerk It Like Miley Cyrus singer is yet to follow up on his side of the deal.

Fresh Tea claims that he has made several attempts to get back his money by approaching Elephant Man and his manager Q45, but to no avail.

"On the 4th of September 2013, the artiste Laser Matrix brought me to Elephant Man's home in St Andrew at about 1:42 p.m. He listened to my track, and we took some pics there together. At the end I paid him $200,000 in cash and he told Laser Maytrix to bring me to Q45's studio where he would do his voicing on that same day," Fresh Tea explained.

Fresh Tea says he was told to wait at Q45's recording studio for Elephant Man to record the song with him. however, to date, Elephant Man has not returned to do the collaboration. Fresh Tea says he tried to call the deejay's phone continuously for one month and was unsuccessful on all attempts. He was later forced to do the song with female deejay Spice instead.

"One month straight I kept calling and texting Elephant Man, but he didn't take my calls, so I did the song with Spice instead and decided to get my money back from Elephant Man. I spoke to Q45 pertaining to this issue. he apologised to me, but nothing has been done. When I finally got Elephant Man on the phone and asked for my money back, he threatened me," Fresh Tea said.

Fresh Tea has since reported the matter to the Freeport Police station, stating that he fears for his life. The Haitian artiste also intends to file a civil suit against the deejay under the advice of his lawyers.

"I am not going to give my money to Elephant Man just like that, cause I've worked hard to earn it. So this is a very serious matter, so I put it to Jamaican media and the public to know what's going on," Fresh Tea said.

The STAR contacted Elephant Man's manager Q45 for comment on the matter. however, contrary to Fresh Tea's claims that he spoke with Q45, the producer/manager says he knows nothing about what Fresh Tea was saying. He also said that Fresh Tea never approached him about having an issue with Elephant Man.
