I-Octane heading into Sumfest with Number 1 song in Jamaica

Reggae/dancehall star I-Octane is heading into this year's Reggae Sumfest with the number one song in Jamaica.

Buss A Blank has been the No.1 song on local charts for the past two to three weeks, and has definitely set the precedence for Octane, who is set to close Dancehall Night tonight for the very first time at Reggae Sumfest.

The reggae star has definitely been building quite a momentum in the weeks leading up to his big Sumfest performance tonight as he also released a new music video for Happy Times just two weeks ago. Prior to the release of the video, the single had been enjoying heavy rotation both locally and abroad, and undoubtedly will continue to achieve even greater success, compliments of the new video.

Happy Times, which was a 'Good Good Production' single, is also touted as one of the hot songs for the summer.

Octane, who is set to close tonight's Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest, recently returned from a week-long tour, where he performed to sold-out shows in Canada, New York and New Jersey.

According to Octane, his performance this year will be no ordinary performance as he was quoted in a previous interview as saying, "Patrons will get a proper performance. I always try to do my best to give a great performance as my destiny is to contribute to music from a great perspective.

So this will not be just a 2:30 (a.m.) performance for me. I am coming with a different perspective this year. It is not an ego thing for me anymore. This year will be more like bringing down the curtains in a special way, one harmony and unity."

Over the years, other artistes who have closed Dancehall Night at Reggae Sumfest include the likes of Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Capleton and Elephant Man.
