Incarcerated deejay Adijah 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer has responded to the STAR article, 'Kartel Pokes Fun at Chuck Fenda's Baby Mother?', which was published on Thursday, June 13. Speaking through his associate Elvis 'So Unique' Redwood, Kartel has made it clear that he was not referring to Georgina Sergeon in the song.
"I just want to clear the air on this Georgina issue. As it relates to the speculation that we were involved, it is not true. The song is talking about sexual riding, so I simply made reference to a female rider. That's it. It wasn't meant to be a disrespect," Kartel said.
However, Kartel has also reacted to Sergeon's statement in the story, that she feels the song was done "...just to get a hype. I am the best female jockey in the Caribbean, so maybe that's why he did the song and some people take it out of context and are trying to be mischievous".
To that Kartel has said: "More importantly though, Ms Sergeon wasn't mentioned to get a hype. I am immensely, unequivocally, irrevocably more famous than her as an 11-year music veteran who has toured the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and North, South, and Central America numerous times, and I have never seen her in any of those places, unless she was among the tens of thousands in the crowd."
And Kartel ended on a concillliatory note, saying "in closing, I would just like to reiterate that the song was not meant to defame the jockey".
