Artiste Javon Rodney, more popularly known as Kid Kurrup, is denying allegations that he is being sought by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA).

In an interview with THE STAR, the artiste says these allegations came about when a dispute between himself and a female artiste, 17-year-old Devina Burn, ended up on Twitter.

'My ex-girlfriend hacked my phone and started tweeting stuff about me and my artiste Devina. A popular publicist made a report to CISOCA and because of this, the police came to my house on Friday. I wasn't there but I called them and we have set up a meeting with CISOCA to speak about the allegations," Kurrup told THE STAR.

The artiste went on to say that the allegations were untrue and has tarnished his reputation.

"I am not wanted by the police. I am in conversation with the police and I know that Devina is not pushing the issue, so I don't know why it is being said that I am wanted," he said.

He further explained that he could not have been the one posting the tweets because that would be incriminating.

"A publication put out a release Monday that CISOCA is hunting for me. I called CISOCA and they told me that they did not send out any information like that, so my lawyer is looking into dealing with that publication," he said.

Kurrup was also adamant that the allegations of carnal abuse were ludicrous because he was not having sexual relations with Burn when she was underage.

THE STAR also spoke to Burn who happened to be beside Kurrup at the time.

She explained that she was under the impression that the tweets were from Kurrup but now understands that his phone was hacked.

"This was between me and Javon. I found out it was somebody who had his phone, I don't know why the person took it to Twitter," she said.

She also stated that she made a report to CISOCA because she was influenced to do so.

"I was influenced to go to CISOCA and report Kurrup and at the time I was angry and I confirmed some of the things that persons had reported to the officers. I would never have taken the matter this far if I wasn't influenced by this person," she said.

Burn adamantly denied rumours that she had been having sexual relations with Kurrup since she was 14.

"I was a sheltered child, I didn't even know Javon personally when I was that age," she said. "I'm not rushing into anything with Javon right now, we will always be friends. Everything is at a roadblock right now and everybody will see and know what happens when the time comes," she said. Efforts to contact CISOCA regarding the allegations proved futile.
