Krushal, Candy K crowned Magnum King and Queen

After 13 weeks of electrifying competition, Magnum Kings and Queens of the Dancehall have crowned it's seventh King an Queen, Krushal and Candy K.

After almost two hours of performances from former contestants of the popular talent show, it was finally time for a much-anticipated clash.

Candy K and Sim Sim were the first to take the stage, the former making things interesting with the white body bag she used as a prop.

Dressed in full purple, Sim Sim was also in a militant mood. Maybe because Candy K had consistently been demolishing her opponents each week, Sim Sim's delivery of potent lyrical jabs was something of a surprise.

So intense was the clash that the judges had a hard time deciding on a winner.

Up next were Krushal and Hydal. Though this was the most anticipated clash of the night, patrons were left disappointed after lacklustre performances from both.

The two ran out of lyrics, though Krushal seemed to have a little more than his opponent.

Not one to mince words, judge Miss Kitty told the men she had anticipated more.

"I am disappointed in you gentlemen. Krushal you were the better of the two, but right now mi feel like dem fi give the woman dem di two million dollar because unuh nuh ready fi di clash," Kitty said.

Both princesses then stood to both sides of the 'royal' chair.

With anticipation high, Candy K, who has been one of the favourites in the competition, was announced as the winner and the crowd erupted.

"Edna Manley here I come. Mommy mi dweet, mi win. Mi a go tek care a yuh. A nuh ya so it stop," Candy K said, before launching into Everything's Gonna Be Alright - a song dedicated to her mother.

Before the princes could be called onstage, the crowd had already begun chanting Krushal's name.

With both princes on stage, Krushal was named the winner, and, not for the first time, the crowd went wild.

"Give thanks and praise to the Most High, creator of the universe. Mi did tell unuh enuh," Krushal told the crowd, before launching into his popular self-titled song.

Both winners walked away with $1 million, a phone courtesy of Digicel, a song to be produced by UIM Records and a video to be directed by RD Studios.

Preceding the announcement, Konshens electrified the UDC car park with a medley of his popular hits. He was also joined on stage by up-and-coming artiste Masicka.

Closing out the show were performances from Jah Bouks, Chris Martin, Lady Saw and I-Octane.
