LA LEWIS JAILED FOR MAKING FAKE DRINK

The police have arrested deejay LA Lewis after it is alleged that he was manufacturing and marketing a fake drink.

Investigators attached to the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID) apprehended the deejay, whose real name is Horace Lewis, in relation to breaches of the Trademark Act, THE STAR has learnt.

Information reaching our news team is that Lewis was picked up by police yesterday and an investigation launched into the allegations.

Head of OCID, Senior Superintendent of Police Fitz Bailey told THE STAR, "Our investigation is at a preliminary stage so I cannot speak on the matter at this time, only to say he is being held for breaching the Trademark Act."

Sources close to THE STAR said that Lewis was accosted in the Waterhouse community yesterday with two other individuals, whose identities have not been released.

The source disclosed that Lewis was under the radar following allegations that he was manufacturing and marketing a drink of similar likeness to a product of similar name, which was already being manufactured by the owners of the trademark.

THE STAR was informed that samples of the product and labels used to brand the drink were confiscated, however, up to press time no confirmation was provided.

A post from Lewis' Facebook page last night read, "Rite now am askin all ma fans to protest for free LA Lewis tomorrow becaws am innocent and don't sell illegal juice." This followed reactions from a handful of fans/friends on his page who commented on the posting.

One person, Mitch expressed, "Rude Bwoy, a wah kind a drinks factory u a operate?", while Danielle Stamp added, "dwl yes LA Lewis! U did it again"

Lewis, a widely known controversial figure, portrays himself as a Jamaican deejay who is better known for his publicity stunts than musical output.
