Dancehall artiste Lady Saw, has closed her verified twitter page and is not in control of the posts that are currently being made by her Facebook accounts, which has over 500,000 likes. According to the Queen of Dancehall, both accounts were hacked by unscrupulous persons and her passwords changed against her will.

The Heels On deejay said while she has been able to close her twitter account, Facebook is more technical, therefore, the unknown culprits are still in control of her page. She is therefore encouraging her social-network followers to ignore controversial posts coming from the facebook.com/LadySawDancehall page.

"Facebook is asking me all this bag of information for me to close it down. I have a new twitter account called LADY SAW OFFICIAL and they created another with the same name, but the real one has all capital letters," she said.

The Grammy Award-winning deejay said she is not bothered by the loss of her pages because they sometimes provide a medium for personal attacks from Internet bullies. However, she wants her fans to know that the posts being made by the Facebook page does not represent her nor her management team.

"It's not something I worry about. The Internet used to be a place where artistes interact with their fans, but nowadays, people just make pages to disrespect people and start arguments," she said.

In the meantime, Lady Saw is adding the final touches to her 10th album which will be released in July under her own label, Diva's Records, and distributed by VP Records. The album will feature Mr Alley, formerly of UB40; R&B artiste Estelle; Beres Hammond; American rapper Flo Rida and Mr Vegas. She also disclosed that the project will dabble in dancehall, jazz and blues, reggae, and gospel.

"We recently wrapped up a photoshoot for the album and it was wicked. I had a personal and professional stylist and the pictures are sexy and the album will represent both Lady Saw and Marion Hall," the veteran said.

Lady Saw had a major hit record in the United States in 1999 with Smile, a song that featured Vitamin C. The song peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold with over 500,000 sales.

The sometimes controversial deejay also sold more than three million copies, reaching triple platinum certification for her collaboration with No Doubt called Underneath It All and is the first female deejay to win a Grammy, courtesy of the same effort.

On Friday, Lady Saw will be the featured act in the LIME Celeberity Showcase at Famous Night Club. The club series has already seen a performance from Kalado and will feature Aidonia next week. See more info on page 24.
