LUCIANO is the only Jamaica-based artiste nominated in the Reggae category for the Juno Awards, scheduled for April 1 at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.
The roots reggae singer has been recognised for his collaborations with Canada-based reggae act Dubmatix on the songs Seeds of Love and Life.
Dubmatix is a multiple Juno Award nominee and winner best known for working with American reggae acts, the Easy Star All-Stars and John Brown's Body.
Other nominees in the category are Exco Levi who made the cut with the track Bleaching Shop which was done for Penthouse Records; Jay Douglas for Lover's Paradise; Steele for the Fam Records-produced dependent Woman and Toronto mainstay Tanya Mullings for Rescue Me.
The Junos are the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards. It was first held in 1970. This year's show will be hosted by William Shatner of Star Trek fame.
