REGGAE artiste Lutan Fyah says he is alive and well, following rumours that he collapsed and died during a concert in the Zimbabwean capital of Harare, this week.
"I am here in Harare enjoying myself and preparing for the concert. I don't know where that rumour has come from but I'm alive," Lutah Fyah, whose real name is Anthony Martin, told the Observer via a telephone interview which was arranged by his booking agent Ralston Barrett.
"The concert is not until Friday so I don't understand why people would make up such rubbish," Barrett told the Observer.
Lutan Fyah flew into the Southern African state on Sunday for a performance at Kebab Centre in Harare on Friday. He did not carry a band and will be supported by local band, Chirwa Ites.
"I intend to give the Zimbabwe people a stellar performance and they will not be shortchanged," Lutan Fyah promised.
The artiste is known for several hits inluding, Girl Come Over, Africa, Jail, St Jago De La Vega and Save The Juvenile.
He is expected to tour several ghetto communities in that country and will also shoot a video for the single Girl Come Over, before he departs the African continent.
"It feels good to be back home on African soil," he said.
