FEMALE dancehall artiste Macka Diamond is optimistic her recently released album, Don't Disturb Me, will do well. The 15-track album, produced by her label — Money O Productions — and distributed by VP Records, was digitally released last month. The hard copy hits the stores in January.
A track from the album — Wine — is gaining momentum as a day after being posted on the website WorldStarHipHop.com, the video received over 50,000 viewers. The song is produced by Young Veterans.
"It feels great. I see progress. It shows the video was well directed. So big up to Terminal Four (who shot the video)," she said.
"We plan to keep promoting the video and hope people can continue voting for it because our intention is to get it international recognition," she continued.
Macka Diamond, whose real name is Charmaine Munroe, believes she'll witness even bigger success once the hardcopy is released in January of next year.
"I believe that this album (which features the hit singles Wine and Cowfoot) will further cement my status as one of the leading female entertainers in this very competitive industry," she said.
The artiste is scheduled to leave the island for a one-week album promotional tour in Canada and United States. She intends to return early January to begin preparation for her local album launch and her three-part birthday bash party series from January 13-15.
"We have had a successful year musically and we plan to continue this trend into the New Year and onwards," she said.
