Expectations are certainly high as the organisers gear up to launch the seventh season of Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall this week.

Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, producer for the show Sanjay Ramanand said he was "expecting an exciting seventh season, coming off one of the biggest years that we have had and one of the biggest hits coming from Jah Bouks".

The seventh season will be launched on Tuesday in a talk- show format, but will not be aired until Saturday on TVJ.

With a show that has grown leaps and bounds since its inception, Ramanand says it is no surprise that the show has lasted as long as it has.

"It is a show that will have a lot of longevity because dancehall is an integral part of our culture," he told THE STAR.

Due to the fact that much will be revealed at the launch, Ramanand was only willing to say that the show will announce the host of the Digicel Endz. He was not willing to divulge much, except to say that the judges, host and some of the past contestants will be seen at the launch.

As for the format, he explained that the talk-show format was chosen to allow more persons to be part of the experience.

"We like the TV launch because it has more reach. It allows people from all over the island to feel like they are a part of it," Ramanand said.
