WAYNE Marshall showcased the musical strength of Tru Colors at the album's launch at the Triple Century Sports Bar in New Kingston, on Wednesday night. Also attending were several collaborators on the project.

"Tru Colors contains songs that are a blend of elements that inspire me. It shows a more eclectic side of me," Marshall told the Jamaica Observer.

The 13-track album has been available since January and released on the Ghetto Youths International label. Tru Colors is Marshall's second official studio album and features executive producer Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley. It contains the hit Stupid Money.

"I have to big up Junior Gong, because without him this album wouldn't have the flavour it has," Marshall said.

Fans and the music fraternity turned out to enjoy the intimate performance by Wayne and his friends. He entertained by opening with the album's title track, Tru Colors, reeling off On the Corner, and showing his chops on the guitar playing Success Story. Things got bumped up to the next level when he brought Tarrus Riley on stage. The two then transitioned to sister-in-law Tessanne Chin, starting off a highlight reel moment that continued all the way through to the rest of the night.

With the first bars of Stupid Money, the audience was in for a surprise as Marshall brought Agent Sasco (Assassin) to the stage, but it was the eight-year old Giomar, Marshall's son, who stole the show proving he could do more than sing the chorus, performing the whole song.

The finale saw Bounty Killer joining Marshall which brought the crowd to its feet and left them screaming for an encore. The pair performed Be On The Alert from the album and then did their first hit together, Smoke Clears. Done a cappella, it proved to be a fitting end to the night.
