Mavado was fined 80-thousand dollars, or six months on the assault charge, and another 20-thousand dollars, or six months for the malicious destruction of property charge.
The appeal against the assault-conviction for singjay has been re-scheduled, to be heard next year March.
The matter was initially listed to be heard yesterday, in the appeal court. The legal team representing Mavado requested that the hearing be taken-off the list, and set for a date in March 2013.
In May of this year, the artiste was convicted in the Montego Bay RM court, for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and malicious destruction of property.
The charges stemmed from an incident on the Belmont Main Road in St. James last July, in which a father and son were allegedly attacked by the artiste, and members of his entourage. The two men received injuries, and their vehicle was damaged during the altercation.
