After five years, dancehall artiste Mr Lexx has been reinstated his Canadian work permit.

The work permit which expired five years ago was reinstated last month and since then the artiste has completed a mini tour of the country.

Mr Lexx told THE STAR that he enjoyed performing for his Canadian fans.

"The tour was mad crazy. I have a huge fan base in Canada, and because I haven't visited there in a while, it was overwhelming. The shows were sold out and the fans enjoyed the performances," Mr Lexx said.

The deejay is also gearing up to release his second album Lex-icon: The Lexx Factor. Mr Lexx's last album was released in 2000.

According to the deejay, he decided to give the album that name because it represents a person who coins their own slangs.

"It represents someone who make up dem own word and that definitely fits me because I am always making up my own slangs and ting," he said.

Lex-icon: The Lexx Factor features songs such as Ruggu Ruggu and the popular song Wine Till You Back Bruk which was the theme song for the In The Dance show.

"My ting a overseas ting. I mixed the local with an international vibe, I try to keep it hardcore, but at the same time international. The album has something everybody can relate to," Mr Lexx told THE STAR.

The artiste turned actor was recently featured in two movies namely Out The Gate and Wha Do Dem.

Mr Lexx stated that he is also in talks with playwright Basil Dawkins for a Christmas project.

The artiste is also gearing up for a tour of Europe in October and also has his sights set on getting back his US visa.
