Dancehall's 'energy god' and 'queen' have combined efforts to release a single they think will blow up in the dancehall arena.
Elephant Man and Lady Saw have teamed up to record a follow-up to the '90s dancehall classic, Backshot, which was originally a collaboration between Saw and Spragga Benz.
The new song called Sidung, was produced by Elephant Man's manager Q45, and is already getting major attention in the dancehall.
According to Elephant Man who came up with the idea for the song, he has always wanted to work with Lady Saw, and now the time and chemistry was right.
"I have always wanted to work with a hard-core female dancehall artiste, but when mi a write this song a Lady Saw first come to mind. Lady Saw was the right person to record the song with because she always a compete with the male artistes and she has that hardcore dancehall delivery," Elephant Man said.
Sidung is already number one on the People's Choice social network chart and Elephant Man believes the song is destined to be another classic.
"This will be a next classic like fi Spragga Benz. I write songs for people to enjoy, Boom Boom and Foota Hype play it a party and it get whol' heap a pull up. The response was amazing... people have been giving me good reviews, the song is real dancehall like the old school Elephant Man, suh that is why people love it," Ele added.
Elephant Man says things are looking brighter for him as he is also breathing a sigh of relief, after reaching a favourable settlement with the Jamaica Public Service regarding his alleged light abstracting controversy.
"Well mi buss the case, it throw out and thank God it is all over and we give thanks, everything pay up and pay off because a misunderstanding, Elephant Man never duh nothing wrong," he said.
The artiste, who maintains that he was not directly responsible for the mishap with his electricity affliction, disclosed that he would spend more time taking care of his own business.
"My mistake was that I made people handle my business, so right now I am going to be more integral in my business because when dem thing yah blow out of proportion a my name a guh call. They are not going to say it is Elephant Man's sister or uncle, they are going to say it is me because a my name on the business," he said.
The artiste is also gearing up to shoot the music video for Sidung next week, a video which he believes will pull even more attention to the song.
