Veteran dancehall artiste Ninja Man has said anything is possible at Sting this year. The artiste who missed the show last year due to his incarceration on murder charges, said he wants to return Sting to its former glory days.
"If the money deh deh fi Sting, I will be there but mi naah run dung Sting, mi a build back mi career. That is why I am pacing my songs, because I am building back dancehall to where it was, mi nah run dung Sting mi a run dung fi lock the place fi a good two year, and I know I have the capability fi dweet and mi a guh dweet. If Laing want a great Sting him try get Shabba and mek mi and him show the people dem real dancehall," he said.
The artiste said he has only missed the popular stage show four times since 1988, and his fans are looking forward to seeing some real action.
"A me name Mr Sting, all when mi deh a foreign Laing send fi mi. From mi come from jail mi and Laing nuh really communicate because of a little vibe wey did gwaan wid a stage show, but at the same time, nobody can replace Ninja Man at Sting because I prepare myself for that stage show just like how the promoter does his preparations. I even send to Japan to design my outfits," Ninja Man said.
"And if a clash the Gorgon ready fi kill dem inna di dancehall, Gorgon nuh fraid a nuh war and always prepared. Send the likkle one dem fi KipRich and send the big one dem fi mi," he warned.
Ninja Man was pulled into a physical brawl with embattled entertainer Vybz Kartel in 2003 during a live clash at Sting, however, the veteran deejay said if the war is not completely lyrical he will not have a role in it.
"Some artiste wey pree clash negative, mi nuh inna it wid dem, but artiste who will keep it lyrical then mi ready. Mi have mi war army ready and waiting wid artistes like Stacious, General B, General Trees, George Nooks, Nitty Kutchie, KipRich, Josey Wales a lot of good artistes. So if they want a good clash they can get it and if they want a face-off they can get it ... otherwise mi wi just perform mi set and give some tune to mi fans because a long time dem nuh see mi and mi have some new material mi wah show dem," he said.
Ninja Man also had some words of encouragement for Sting's headline act this year, Tommy Lee Sparta.
"You have a style wey di pickney dem love, suh yuh nuh haffi sing bout demon. Him style unique and mi love different style in music. Yuh have a positive future youth, just duh music and, as an elder mi rate yuh style, just lef out the devil vibes.
"Some man wey a clamp down pon Tommy Lee mek mistakes too and deejay things that they are not supposed to say ... I can't condemn Tommy Lee, everybody makes mistakes. Him fi just know sey Jamaica is a God-fearing country."
Ninja Man said he has a lot of new songs, "but wi nah reveal dem yet. Mi just a pace how mi issue dem to the radio because I want lasting hits, no one-week number one."
