PAJ Pays Tribute to Michael 'Mighty Mike' Jones

Tributes continue to pour in for IRIE FM’s veteran broadcaster Mighty Mike.

Mighty’s son Asani Jones also known as Dj Sani had this to say.

Meanwhile Legendary dancehall deejay Shabba Ranks and Bounty Killa are some of the entertainers paying tribute to Mighty Mike.

In a heartfelt homage, Shabba who was a friend of Mighty tells Music News he has been struggling since he heard the news.

Bounty Killa remembers how influential Mighty Mike was in his career.

Producer Bobby Digital says Mighty Mike will be truly missed.

Meanwhile Singer Richie Spice had this message for Mighty Mike’s son Asani Jones.

IRIE FM’s programmes director Andrea Williams-Green says Mighty Mike, was one of the most versatile presenters at the station, having worked in every time slot on the programming time table.

Several entertainers, producers, industry players, friends and fans paid tribute to Mighty Mike via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  

The late broadcaster, worked on air, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

When he did not turn up for his six to ten shift on Thursday, his co-workers who describe him as punctual, became very concerned. Mighty Mike was later found dead at his home in Ocho Rios St. Ann, about eight o' clock on Thursday.

Based on preliminary reports, police say Mighty Mike died of natural causes, as he had complained of not feeling well, days leading up to his sudden passing. Constable Charles Smith of the Ocho Rios police, who was at the late broadcaster's home last night, says the investigations are ongoing.

Mighty Mike who also lived in Manchester was a broadcaster, a sound system selector and music producer.
