Dancehall artiste QQ is expanding his business portfolio to include a new shoe line. Aptly called 'QQ Original Brand', the One Drop artiste confirmed to THE STAR that his new footwear line would include school shoes, slippers and sandals.

He added that this new line has been a dream of his since he was 10.

"I've been wanting to do a footwear line since I was in high school. I've always wanted to have school shoes especially for the less fortunate young men who are unable to afford it," he said.

Though he was unable to give a specific date as to when the line will be available to the public, he did confirm that it will be in time for September term. With the economic struggles now facing many individuals, QQ was adamant that his line will be affordable.

"We have no actual figures as yet, but it will be a price that everyone will be able to afford. We know that times are hard for everyone so our aim is to put out quality products that everyone can enjoy."

With several other artistes turning their attention to merchandising, QQ told THE STAR that he was confident that fans will be receptive of the line, especially since it will cater to students.

There are also plans to seek sponsorship from Corporate Jamaica with hopes of donating shoes to the less fortunate.

"I personally will be donating 1,000 of the 'QQ Original Brand' shoes to students across the island. I will also be seeking donations from other companies to do more donations because while I am able to donate the shoes, the production staff have to be paid for their labour, so that donation from Corporate Jamaica would go towards offsetting that cost," he said.

In the meantime, QQ is busy promoting his latest singles Raise Your Bumper and Jack Hammer. He is also scheduled for a series of oversees tours over the next few months.
