In what came to the fore via an online rant recently, dancehall artiste Stein says he is getting a 'fight' because he is light-skinned.

In a six-minute video that was posted on January 24, which has already garnered almost 2,000 views on YouTube, Stein, formerly Einstein, spoke openly about why he believes he is being sidelined.

Explaining the reason for doing the video that was also laced with expletives, Stein said it was done because he does not believe he is being treated fairly in the music business.

"The reason is to let my fans know weh mi a go through. Sometimes, the fans will seh dem nah hear from mi but mi haffi mek di fans know seh mi a get a fight," he told THE STAR.

"Mi caan mek dem feel seh mi alrite and mi good and mi lazy. Every day mi inna di studio. Every day mi fly out. I am still working and I am always working. I don't get much promotion from the media and people in the music business," he said.

He added that oftentimes people make statements like, "If yuh did black yuh woulda buss already." However, Stein said he should not be judged based on his skin colour but on the quality of his work.

"It's a major issue for mi so mi haffi mek di fans dem know," he said.

Stein noted that he is sure he is getting a 'fight' because of his appearance and the fact that he is not being liked by some people in the industry, as he usually promotes his songs.

"Mi always a promote. Mi a one of the hardest working artistes in the business. Mi work hard and mi promote hard," he said.

But Stein said he has been working hard and has released songs like Shell Down The Party and Fall In Love for Chimney Records. He said he has also done songs like Visa Loving on Cashflow Records' 'School Bag' rhythm and NuhBoring by a producer called Silent.

"I am on a lot of the hot rhythms but mi hear some disc jockey play and dem don't play mi songs dem. Mi nuh know if a because mi nah bruk no empty bokkle inna dem head fi dem play mi song dem," he said.

Currently in the United States to shoot four music videos, Stein said he has also been recording and performing on a few club shows. In addition, he said he is gearing up to release the music video for Shell Down The Party.
