TESSANNE Chin's album, Count on My Love which was released yesterday, has hit the ground running.

The set, released by the Universal Music Group as part of her prize for winning the televised talent show, The Voice, debuted in the top 10 on the iTunes album Top 100 chart, peaking at number six before rounding off the day in the 10th spot.

Speaking to the Jamaica Observer last night, Chin's excitement was clear.

"This is completely overwhelming, it's crazy. The support has been huge and unexpected. Don't get me wrong, it's not that we never thought it was possible, after all it's what you dream and pray about all your life, but when it happens it just blows you away. I just have to thank everybody for the strength and support they have put behind this project," said Chin.

Of note, is the fact that the album has been released on International Reggae Day, a fact that did not go unnoticed by Chin.

"I am always so proud of my roots, and considering that this was not the original release date, it is great how things can just fall into place... if anything it's a good omen and I am so proud that it has happened on this day."

The 10-track production features singles produced by the likes of Supa Dups and writers including Diane Warren and Ryan Tedder.

Social media began buzzing early yesterday as fans of the Jamaican singer raved about the potency of the tracks which includes Tumbling Down, which was written for the winner of the competition, as well as Everything Reminds Me of You which Chin premiered a few weeks ago on The Voice.

Chin thanked her fans on social media for putting the word out there as well as clamouring for the product which was not available in some markets.

"We are rectifying Canada which was not able to access the album. They will have it by 12 midnight tonight (Tuesday)."

Chin's coach on The Voice, Adam Levine; took to Twitter to lend support for his former charge. "@Tessanne 'a ALBUM DROPPED GUYS GOGOGO SUPPORT AND BUY IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT I PROMISE I LOVE U TESS," he tweeted.

Chin is also looking forward to her performance at Reggae Sumfest on Saturday, July 19.

"I can't wait to come home and perform at Sumfest. It will be like my Jamaican album launch as it's the first time I will be able to sing some of the tracks live... I am really excited about that."

The artiste is currently part of The Voice Tour and has already completed eight gigs with another 31 to go in all the major cities in the United States as well as a stop in Toronto, Canada.

"It is such a great experience and I will be using this tour to promote Count on My Love. It is a fantastic opportunity to just take my music to various markets in North America and do promotion for the alum at the same time... it's wonderful."

The tour pulls into Hershey, Pennsylvania tonight with a performance at the Hershey Theater. Come Saturday it's on to the Trump Taj Mahal — Mark G Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Other cities down for stops are New York, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas and San Diego.
