TIFA SIGNS RECORD DEAL - North American label to work with dancehall artiste

Recently named by Largeup.com among the Top 10 Reggae/Dancehall Greatest Lady Deejays, Tifa has now made a major step in her evolving musical career. She recently signed with a North American-based independent label, Island Kings Records.

Island Kings Records was founded in 2014 by a team of industry experts who reportedly came together to create a label whose main focus is to 'cross over artistes' into the mainstream.

By fusing dancehall with hip hop, R&B and house music, industry executive and producer Sean 'Due' Lashley (New York-based) and industry executive, Canada-based Angie Haddad, plans to expose the talents of creative, innovative and hardworking acts from outside North America.

administrative skills

The label's main goal is to promote magnificent administrative skills in music publishing, distribution, production and management systems that already exist in the market to succeed on an international level. Tifa is the first artiste chosen to build their legacy.

The dancehall star is said to have been chosen based on her success in the market, her friendly attitude, good spirit and work ethic.

Island Kings is already getting into promotion mode with Tifa's hot new club banger Bak It Up, which was produced by Lashley. He also produced Tifa's hit Get Flat a few years ago. He was also instrumental in her clinching a deal as the brand ambassador for Nuvo.

"When I heard Tifa's vocals on my track it felt like an incredible new energy. It shook my spine and my waistline. She's an amazing artiste," said Lashley.

A video for Bak It Up was recently completed in Los Angeles, California. Scenes were shot at the Film City Studios and on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. It was directed by Ben Marcus.

Marcus is known for his work on videos including Akon's Love You No More; B.O.B.'s Paper Route and Konvict Music African duo P-Square's Beautiful.

"The video has a different look, a different vibe and a lot of dance scenes. It's gonna be a fun video," said Tifa.

The Bak It Up single is now available at all digital online stores including iTunes.

Some of Tifa's recent performances include the Best of the Best concert in Miami; the Oracabessa Festival in New York; and the Crab Festival in Montego Bay.
