LAST Saturday's controversial police shooting of Kayann Lamont in Yallahs, St Thomas, has been condemned in song by reggae artiste Anthony B.
The song, Too Hard Now, will be released on Tuesday. It is co-produced by Irie Vibration, an Austrian company and Anthony B's Born Fire Music.
When I first heard of the recent police killing and knowing that one of them was only a month away from having a baby, I say to myself, 'this is too much now'. When will we take a firm stand, to stop this innocent slaying of our people, Anthony B told the Jamaica Observer from London.
Lamont, who was eight months pregnant, was shot and killed following a tussle with a corporal who accosted her for using expletives while he was issuing a traffic ticket.
Her sister was also shot in the shoulder by the policeman.
The incident sparked days of demonstrations at the Yallahs Police Station where the shooting took place.
The corporal was formally charged on Wednesday with murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of a firearm and assault.
