Zamunda to headline St Ann street festival

Reggae artiste Zamunda will headline the annual street festival in Discovery Bay, St Ann, on the Farm Town cricket field.

The show will feature performances from artistes such asLittle Hero, PZed, Angele Smith, Loyal Flame, Vyper, Spanner Banner, Absolute, Seanizzle, Zamunda, Jermaine Michael, Chris Demontague and Noddy Virtue.

It will be held onNovember 24, and it is organised by Canadian recording company S-Q Records. Theevent will be hosted by DJ Amber of IRIE FM and special radio presenter Catman who will be flying to Jamaica from London, England, to participate.

"This is an all-day and all-night event. During the day we will be giving away loads of stuff like knapsacks full of school supplies for the school kids, gift bags which will have T-shirts, hats, CDs, posters and more, dictionaries, thesauruses, Bibles, as well as hundreds of Christmas presents for the kids," Lucci Gabana, CEO of S-Q Records, said in a release.

Also during the day will be the introduction of a brand new local football team, the 'Bethel-Town Squires', sponsored by S-Q Records. The players will be announced and the team will be presented with brand new jerseys, shorts and socks for every member.

"We're expecting appearances from special guests, like the local school principal and member of parliament, to receive the knapsacks and school supplies for the kids. Local church members to receive new Bibles sent from Canada, and special international recording artistes whose names aren't on the bill," Lucci Gabana said.

The music for the night will be played by Outlaw Sound.

Admission is free for everyone. This event is intended to give back a little to the kids, the youths, and all members of the community.
