Dancehall diva D'Angel is overjoyed at the success of her recent 'Break Free' single which rocketed to #1 on the CVM Hitlist charts last week and maintained that spot for the second consecutive week.
The single, recorded in the wake of her painful divorce from her husband, dancehall deejay Beenie Man, has become a firm favourite of dancehall fans and is one of the most-played songs on FM radio today.
"I am really happy for the support of the fans that helped to push this song to the top of the charts. This is just affirmation that the dancehall fans understand my struggle and recognise that I always try to put out uplifting music with a message for the fans ... a message for anyone who is going through a struggle or turmoil," she said in a release.
Break Free was releasedon the Life riddim on the Good Good Productions imprint eight weeks ago.
D'Angel is booked to perform at a number of shows this December, including a show at Negril BeachPark on December 23, Yardfest Family Fun Day on December 24, the GT Taylor Xtravaganza on December 25 and she is the headliner at the Epic Fashion Ball on December 31.
"At the Epic Fashion Ball, I will be the only act on the show which is about fashion and fabulousity. I am going to grace the ballroom with my fabulous diva presence," 'D'Angel joked.
She is also gearing up for the release of A Mother's Wish, the follow up to Break Free, which also appears on the Good Good Production imprint.
"It is a highly anticipated song among my fans,especially sinceI did it as a tribute to my son, Marco Dean, and I may even do a music video for the song," she said.
Dancehall fans can also look out for the hard-hitting single Not Looking Back, featuring Tony Matterhorn.
"I am going all out this Christmas, I will be at staff parties, children's treats, corporate events - things are looking great for D'Angel," she said.
