... Despite being whisked away by police after Sting performance

Dancehall heavyweight Sheldon Lawrence, more popularly known as Aidonia, was whisked away from the Jam World entertainment complex yesterday morning by police personnel apparently for use of indecent language, THE STAR understands.

Information gathered by THE STAR is that Aidonia was later released after being given a stern warning.

The artiste was reportedly accosted for his sporadic use of profanity throughout his rather short and energetic set despite being warned.

Though not the only performer on the night who used profanity during their performance, the Run Road deejay was made an example by officers at the venue who deemed him to be excessive.

He was approached by the lawmen upon exiting the stage.

Aidonia's manager Lavarcam Lawrence in a release to THE STAR said, "Upon exiting the stage, the police surrounded the artiste and spoke to him for a few minutes, he was brought to the station. However, the artiste was not charged for any act."

When contacted by THE STAR, SSP Collin Pinnock, head of St Catherine South police division, confirmed that the entertainer was accosted by police and brought to the station for use of profanity.

SSP Pinnock said, "I heard that certain indecent language were used by him (Aidonia)... he was not charged based on the discretion of the police."

Head of Supreme Promotions, Isaiah Laing, however, told THE STAR that Aidonia was escorted off the compound because the police, in his estimation, wanted to have a word with him.

The release sent to THE STAR further quoted Aidonia as saying, "I just wah big up ma fans them for coming out and support me at Sting, is a joy fi work fi mi people dem. I received many calls saying I was locked up and charged, but nothing like that."
