D'Angel apologises to fans ... after billed artistes fail to show

In apologising to her supporters for the absence of some artistes from her birthday party in Savanna-la-Mar on the weekend, dancehall artiste D'Angel says she is committed to returning to the area to host a free show.

On Sunday, D'Angel held her birthday party at Hotel Commingle in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. Some of the artistes slated to perform were Beenie Man, Capleton, Coco Tea, Ryno, Zamunda, Twin of Twins, Stacious, Ikaya, Tanto Blacks, Charly Black, Droop Lion and Hero.

However, of those billed to perform, only Twin of Twins, Zamunda, Coco Tea, Droop Lion and some Westmoreland-based artistes showed.

A disappointed D'Angel noted that the artistes made a commitment to perform at the event and only disclosed that they would not be able to attend the event after it had already started. She said Capleton was the headliner for another show, Potential Kidd was in a minor accident and Beenie Man was minutes away when the police told her it was time to end the event. Despite this, she said she "managed to get Beenie Man on speaker phone to apologise to the people who were quite upset."

Although the show took place only a few days ago, she is already promising her supporters a free show at a date to be announced.

"I'm committed to come back to the west to do a free show. Beenie Man is already confirmed and gave me his word. I'm also using this medium to invite all the other artistes who failed to turn up at the show to contact me as soon as possible because you should not have confirmed when you very well knew you weren't going to turn up. It is not even me but you owe it to the people of Savanna-la-Mar," she said, thanking her sponsors.

"Once again, I want to sincerely apologise from the bottom of my heart for this situation, which was beyond my control, and I promise I will make it up back to the people."
