According to an allafrica.com online report, dancehall artiste Elephant Man has incurred the ire of Ugandan dancehall fans after he failed to perform on a show last Friday.

Scheduled to perform for the Kati Kati, Elephant Man refused to do so as the promoters did not settle his wages.

The fans apparently did not care about those details as they were left to see only their local African acts.

"These are the usual artistes we see everyday; why pay that much for them?" one fan was quoted in the article as saying. In fact, they went on to compare the show to a funeral deep in the village where machines also mourn the deceased.

The promoter All Ntdanda, according to newvision.co.ug, was jailed over the weekend for issues relating to Elephant Man's money.

Allan and his partner in business were arrested after Mitch Ogwang and other service providers, who had provided services for the flopped concert, dubbed, 'Let's Get Physical with Elephant Man, filed complaints to police.

Info from the online story is that the promoters brought Elephant Man to Uganda but failed to pay him the agreed amount. Instead, they reportedly deposited half of the agreed sum with the acceptance to clear Elephant Man's balance upon his arrival in Kampala.

The experience, however, was not all bad for Elephant Man as he had numerous requests for collabs with Ugandan artistes.
