'I have not been booted' - Suhverto says J.O.P needs a better structure

J.O.P artiste Suhverto denies allegations that he has been booted from the Aidonia-led camp.

According to the 12-year Aidonia affiliate, he wants more focus to be placed on his career.

"I am still in J.O.P, but I just feel like I need a manager to get my career on the right track because Aidonia alone can't do it," he said.

According to the artiste, J.O.P lacks professionalism, and that has hindered the musical progress of the artistes that are in the camp.

"My career would have been at a different level if there was a level of professionalism and a well-organised structure. We work hard and our musical ethics are good, but the business structure stagnant," he said.

Suhverto disclosed that the camp was making strides under the leadership of Aidonia's previous assistant manager Gerald, however, since he (Aidonia) signed a management deal with Corey Todd, J.O.P has been left in the cold.

"When Gerald was dealing with the management and Lav was the manager, J.O.P had more of a structure to it, he would get the rhythms for us and keep everything coordinated, but since the roles switch up, the focus is mostly on Aidonia and less about J.O.P," he continued.

"J.O.P is not signed to Corey Todd so bookings for J.O.P is scarce, so right now I am looking into sorting out my bookings with a different team," he said.

Suhverto was partially responsible for Aidonia's 2009 hit single Wi Sick (Bad Anywey), produced by Big Ship Records. However, the artiste feels that the returns from the song could have been better.

"Wi Sick was basically my idea. I wrote the hook and my part, and Aidonia wrote his parts, and to be honest, with a song as popular as that my career should have been way better, but I left it all to Aidonia, and because he himself was not in a firm structure, only him get the majority of the benefit," he said.

According to the artiste, he made profit from dubplates but did not make much from shows.

"I got some dubplates from the Wi Sick record, but internationally I did not get much shows and that is because I didn't have that business side locked. We went on a tour but to be honest I haven't seen much gain, I just need a manager," he said.

The artiste last interacted with Aidona in April 2011, however, he maintains that he is still a J.O.P member.

"Me and Aidonia good, mi have loyalty and him know that because mi know him before him buss, if mi guh anywhere mi and him ago chill same way, but when it come to business mi just a pree professionalism because I'm serious about my music," he said.

The artiste is currently working on a mixtape to be released next month, and has exclusive material on the Loveache rhythm called Nuh Friend.

Suhverto is also working with Marcus Myrie who produced a single for him called Dem Nuh Brave.

"I just need a real manager so that I can push my career to the ultimate level," he concluded.
