Deejay Spice has done another overseas collaboration, this time with singer Mya for the song Take Him Out.

The song will be featured on the worldwide version of Mya's sixth studio album K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple & Sexy).

The album was released in Japan in April of last year on Mya's own independent label, Planet 9. A deluxe edition of the album was then released digitally in December to the United States and Canada markets. A worldwide release of K.I.S.S. is now scheduled for Valentine's Day, February 14.

In August, the singer was here for Spice's birthday party, which was held in Portmore. She also shared the stage with the deejay at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay in July. Speaking with The STAR recently Mya said, "Spice and I actually met through another artiste and Stacy, who I have worked with in the past, made the collaboration happen. She's on fire right now, I needed a strong female presence to the song and she was perfect for it."

While the two linked on the phone on numerous occasions, they didn't officially meet until Sumfest.

According to Mya, she loves Spice's music because she is very expressive and speaks what's on her mind.

As for her fans they have been enjoying the Jamaican influence in the song as she said, "Oh my goodness, people love that song, they love the female empowerment and that it's funny and has a real Caribbean flavour."

A video for Take Him Out was shot in Jamaica while the singer was here in August. The video was done by local director Ras Kassa and will be Mya's first video shot in Jamaica. The video is expected to be out in another month or two.

"I've never shot a music video in Jamaica before and it's nice to get the true essence and mood of the island. And also the choreography, it was nice to work with the choreographers and local dancers," Mya said.

Mya said the reception to her album has been good and after being released digitally in the United States peaked at No 1 on Amazon's R&B charts.
